m1210 battery issues

I have recently replaced my hard drive in my m1210 (probably getting close to 1.5 years old) and now when i take the laptop off charge, it only lasts like half an hour, maybe. I think it may be due to power settings when it is running on battery...i used to get a notification that something was being disabled everytime i ran it on battery, but i cant remember what that was or how to get my settings back to what they need to be on so i can run it on battery for a longer period of time.

any help would be appreciated, thanks

check the condition of your battery first, probably it needs to be replaced. batteries gradually lose their capacity to hold, its inevitable.
the thing that being disabled i think it is not related to your hard disk, i used to get a notification too before i reformat my laptop.
i guess you know these tips, but if you want the battery to last longer, you just have to compromise, reduce the screen brightness, set to maximum battery, close bluetooth or wifi.
