XP clean install on IBM T61

Hi all,

This morning there was a Think pad on my desk. It's from a former Employee.

They asked me to recover the files, I told them I can't cause it has a finger print security. I told them I can do a clean install. But when I tried to install it said it couldn't find the hard drive.

Is this a security measure ?

Is there anyway for me to re instal an OS on this Think pad ?

Or do I have to get IBM involved ?

Thanx

u probably just need to install the sata driver 1st in order for XP installation cd to see the drive

visit ibm support site for the appropriate driver. browse the forum for "sata xp installation" - u'll get loads of good info

cheers ...
