Vista SP1 should I install it?
I've been reading reviews of Vista SP1 and it seems completely mixed. Some people kind of like it while others totally hate it. I was wondering if anyone here has updated to it and how they are finding it. I personally hate Vista and have had the blue screen of death 3 times and finally had to do a reinstall. Unfortunately I don't have an XP disc to revert back to.
My question is whether SP1 is worth the time and hdd space? Vista is finally somewhat stable on my new laptop and don't want a new unready M$ update to ruin it again. I respect the opinions of the people on here and would like some feed back on what you all think. |

. i recommend that u back up all your current working drivers under vista first
. and yes, it is worth it to go to SP1 . recommendation is to either order a vista disk that already has SP1 on it, or slipstream one first . installation on top seemed to have mixed result cheers ...

Was just planning on doing a restore point before installing. What do you mean by slipstream my first one?

I haven't had any problems on my Hypersonic laptop (Vista Business x32) nor my desktop (Business x64). It was supposed to fix networking and data transfer issues, which was a big problem for me using a network drive, and speeds do seem quite a bit faster now. As always, back up anything that is essential first.

but like everyone else says, definitely do a restore point before you install, that way you can just revert back if there seems to be more problems.... |

I've successfully uninstalled SP1. Restore points are created automatically.
Don't expect any major noticeable changes
