Guess what about windows "7"
1. Its just an updated vista kernal, which means even more coding and slow downs 2. Heres the best one YOU NEED A TOUCH SCREEN TO BE ABLE TO UPGRADE OR INSTALL WINDOWS 7!!!!!!!! BECAUSE OF THE NEW "Interaction" |

Also your info is based on one feature demo off a very early version. I think it's a little bit early to be saying Windows 7 is junk when it doesn't launch for another year and a half.

I also highly doubt you would NEED a touchscreen. Microsoft would be shooting themselves in the foot on many levels. And while I don't particularly care for them, I know they're not that incredibly stupid.

And not to mention, if you go to Paul Thurrott's website, you'll see that he says that the current Milestone 1 version of W7 is based on the newest version of the Vista kernel. What he also says is that it likely won't stay that way. Currently, W7 is part of the "Vista Family" (Windows 6.x) but its such an early date that no one can possibly know whether it's staying that way, outside of the W7 developers themselves. Vista started off using the latest Windows 5.x (Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003) kernel, but it was updated.

I've always wondered how people jump from things presented at a beta demo to the gospel truth for a product that has yet to RTM...
