Acer 5680 won't power up from battery

I posted this in the Acer section, but was recommended to post here to get some more traffic.

My Acer Aspire 5860 is a great laptop.
Other than the power issue I am having.
It is just over a year old ( out of warranty)

It won't power up from the battery ( which is still in good condition, hardy used)
I bought a new battery, just in case ( it is charged and is new)

It runs on AC just fine.

The battery will charge in the laptop, but won't run from the battery.

The light shows the batteries are charged, the screen says they are charged. Both batteries work in another 5680.

If I pull the AC plug with either battery in the PC, it dies.

Any help on this?
thanks so much
Paul

dr/owned has a few people on his/her side.
Mobo issue I would surmise. Did you make sure the contacts between the battery and the computer are clean?

Sounds to me like.

1. The laptop is OK
2. The battery is OK
3. So the problem must be between the two someplace. Charging circutry, contacts, etc. Someplace after the battery before the power enters the MB.

Get it to a repair shop or the manufacturer.
