Lightbulb How to Include Pictures in your Post

This is an easy step-by-step guide that shows how to insert pictures in your posts.

We willl go from the starting point that you have an image on your computer or that you've seen on the internet that you'd like to share on Notebook Forums (NBF). However, to get it in a post, it needs to be hosted first. There are several free picture hosting sites available. Some of the more popular ones are:
ImageShack www.imageshack.us
PhotoBucket www.photobucket.com
and Kodak EasyShare www.kodakgallery.com

When you first visit a site, you will need to sign up. As I said earlier, this is free and it only takes a minute. Once you're signed up, you can log in and see all the pictures you've uploaded.

Here's how to upload a new picture and post it on NBF. I included screenshots from ImageShack, which is what I use, but the other sites have a similar system.

First, find and select the option to upload a new picture.

A popup window will appear allowing you to choose what picture to upload. Click "browse".

Then select the picture you want from your computer.

Once you've selected your picture, choose "upload".

Now your picture should be in your gallery. Select it.

The site will give you a variety of options of different strings of text. Choose "forums" or or the option that begins and ends with or .

Then copy that string of text and paste it in your post window.

And that's it! Your picture is in your post.

When you're done with the post, submit it as you normally would, and your picture should show up where you put it.

A quick word of caution: now that you know how to to post pictures, please exercise judgment in which images you choose to post. If the picture's content is disgusting, pornographic, or is generally something you would not see in a movie rated PG-13 or lower, please don't post it. Pictures as well as posts are subject to editing and deletion as deemed appropriate by the forum moderators and administrators. For further details, please read the forum rules: http://www.notebookforums.com/thread91776.html

If you have more questions or comments about posting pictures or want to know why a picture you posted got deleted, feel free to send a private message or e-mail to a mod or admin, who will do their best to help you. Happy posting!
