Hey,

I'm considering buying a second hand sony SZ38GP for a very reasonable price, approx. 279$US. But I thought I'd ask other Sony users a few questions.

Knowing this is an older model, what is the maximum RAM upgrade I can do? I'd really like 4GB :P And what is the max resolution you can get out of this for a monitor? I was also thinking about buying a 24" beauty. Is a graphic card upgrade possible? The monitor can take 1920*1200.

Would this laptop also be suitable for a software engineering student? I'll be working all on of the common languages: python, java, C, C++ etc.

Finally, is it worth it? Or should I keep saving my money and buy something newer. The price in my opinion is a score, it's also a light laptop - comparing it to my Powerbook G4 17".

Any info would be great.
