Unhappy HP Pavilion DV7-1020US

just bought this laptop, it has 64bit vista home premium is it possible to change the hard drive and do a clean install using either a 32 bit xp or the 64bit vista home premium?

MDRhoades has a few people on his/her side.
Not unless you have another set of Vista retail discs lying around. HP packages their laptops with a restoral image that you use to re-install the original image (with all of the crapware too) to restore the drive to its original state and make one set of restoral discs which again will only get back to the OEM, original, Vista install.

They definitely do not make it easy to remove the crapware except for uninsatalling the unwanted apps.

oh, i have an xp 64bit and another laptop hard drive but when i swapped the hard disk and tried to install i got an error
