Wireless Network adapter not working

I have a np9860 and have attempted to connect to a wireless network. Have reinstalled the software from Sager. Have deleted the wireless from the device manger and rebooted the machine and let Wxp reinstall the new hardware. Have deleted the driver and let XP reinstll the driver on reboot. It sill still not locate a wireless network and there are 5 in the area. The adapter says that the devide is working properly but does not sense the available networks.

Any more suggestions?

I am actually having a similar problem with my Sager 9860, but mine sees the networks, but it won't connect. I thought the wireless card went, so I bought a Linksys wireless Notebook adapter, still no look. It will not allow me to install the drivers for it.

Any suggestions also appreciated!

Woody87 has a few people on his/her side.
It's most likely a problem with the network, not your computer.

Is it your network or someone else's?

I wish it was the network. I am online right now with my work laptop, wireless of course.

On my Sager, I made sure Wireless was enabled, even with the function and F8 ( I think) key which was first disabled. The thing just can't connect to a wireless network. It says "media disabled" when I try to renew the IP address.

I knew sometime was wrong when the Linksys notebook adapter didn't work either. I spend over an hour with Linksys tech support, no luck. They said something is wrong with the laptop.

I tried resetting the bios factory settings, no luck.

I am out of ideas.

Good thing I have lifetime Sager tech support so I can try them... or is this it?

p.s. Thought I would give the exact error message when I try to renew the IP address using ipconfig /renew:

No operation can be performed on Wireless Netowrk Connection while it has its media disconnected.

Any suggestions appreciated... except the one to use this laptop as a paper weight. =p
