9890 keyboard driver issue?

The keyboard on my old 9890 had a couple of bad keys and I had an extra keybord from a newer Sager 9262. The keyboards looked identical so I put it in. Unfortunately, when I typed on the new keyboiard the key inputs were different, i.e., the keys I was hitting were not the same that appeared on the screen.

So I put the old keyboard back in but now nothing at all happens. I made sure the ribbion was seated properly and checked everything obvious, but I'm getting no keyboard inputs whatsoever.

Do I have to change something else, or reinstall the keyboard driver? Where would one find the latter?
