What exactly does RAID do for me? Should I have done it? Should I have gotten a 3rd hard drive because I did RAID?

Is there a huge difference from 8g to 4g of RAM?

What does SLI mean?(video card)

Does it mean that I have Two 9800 cards, or one with the option of two?

I thought I got a 9800 GT, but it says M, is there a difference?

Is Windows vista 64bit better than 32 bit and better than xp?

Should I have gotten the quad proccessor at 3.0ghz compared to my dual at 3.33?

I know these are really basic questions but I don't know all the terms.

I wanted the best laptop for the money for under 5grand, and this seemed to be a great value.

Thanks again for any answers.

By the way, I am using this mainly for hardcore competitive gaming and video editing and creation.

1.) RAID 0 (striping) puts some of your files on each of your 2 hard drives so it's accessed faster. What this means is that you'll be able to boot and access your info faster than you would be able to do otherwise. However, you will not be able to use the full storage capacity of both drives.

2.) 4GB RAM should be sufficient for anything you want to do unless you use VERY heavy multitasking.

3.) & 4.) SLI (scalable link interface) allows you to use both graphics cards (you have 2 of them) to increase your total graphics performance over what you'd get from just one card.

5.) The M means mobile. It just differentiates between desktop graphics cards (with no M) and notebook cards (with an M)

6.) The 64-bit version of Windows Vista allows you to use more than 4GB of total RAM (including dedicated video RAM), which allows you to utilize all the memory you put in your system. That's its main advantage over the 32-bit version of Vista and XP.

7.) I can't tell you what you should have done. My advice is to be happy with what you got and upgrade later if you need to.
