Dell C600 memory problems
Working on dell lattide C600 with the original 128mb pc 100 memory in it. I tried installing another 256mb memory with the 128mb already in, would not reconize the 256mb, just the 128. Tried to install 256mb in slot 1 by itself and get the flashing lights. Put the 128mb back in and it works. The only other thing that does not work is the cmos battery. I am about ready to replace it soon. Can the cmos battery cause memory upgrade problems? The 256mb is known good memory. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

No, the CMOS battery won't interfere with your memory upgrade troubles. The module you have may not be compatible with that system (SD-RAM is notorious for being picky unlike DDR and DDR2).
