can i make a laptop with my old one? (dv2410us)

I am currently using a dv2410us laptop. i was wondering if i could use the parts in it (probably just ram and HD) to make a new one. I would like to have a gaming laptop, because the dv2410us cant really keep up with even counter strike. Are there barebone laptops (with a good gfx card) that would be able to use the parts of my old laptop?

Thank you.

sure, most current notebooks use SATA hard drives and DDR2 RAM, so you should be able to put those in a barebone just fine. As for finding a good barebone, check out some Compal models.

Ram and hard drive can be interchangeable, but it also boils down to what one has. It could be that the specs on these 2 are lower (higher) than the ones that you intend to swap. I recommend use CPU-Z to jot down the specs on your ram module first. Then you can use it to match the support the barebone systems.

List out what your current specs on the ram modules and the HDD show.

cheers ...

DRAM freq : 301.4 mhz
FSBRAM : CPU/6
CAS # LATENCY: 5.0 clocks
RAS# to CAS# delay : 5 clocks
CYCLE TIME: 15 clocks
Bank ccle time : 21 clocks

You want to use the old ram, pay only attention to what the speed is and the format, i.e DDR? DDR2? PC2700? PC2100? etc ....

Then look at your barebone, does it support these format?

cheers ...
