How my hard disk got so full - No Install CD
I haven't been paying attention much to the ammount of space my programs were using in my laptop so I got a huge shock when I turnied it on one day to find that almost the whole of my hardisk was full (only 1GB left
I'm a total noob when it comes to computers so at first I went into the program files to delete stuff (which I know now is a big no-no). Then I went into the control panel and decided to uninstall all the programs that I can reinstall later. I've uninstalled huge programs like microsoft office and adobe creative suite but I still only have 2GB left? How's this possible... I thought the programs took more space then that. I moved my videos, music and photos into the other drive D a couple of weeks back to make space on the main one (c), it freed up about 20GB but now it seems to have gotten swallowed up anyway. I don't have any games installed either. I've got this CD which came with the laptop called "Recovery Boot disc Windows Vista. Can I use it to reload the whole system or should I just format the hard disk? I really have no idea what to do, so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance! ![]() |

it's supposed to have 320 in all.
when i go into my computer it shows that c drive has 4MB (this number keeps fluctuating) free out of 144GB and disk D has 119 GB free out of 144 as well. |

If I don't have the installation disks...
Hi, I was only given a 'Recovery Boot Disk'.
I want to reinstall vista because I suspect there's malware on my machine. I've done scans for viruses and spyware but nothing has come up. But 144GB hard disk is completely filled up for no reason at all. I've even uninstalled microsoft office and adobe creative suite. I've copied out all my personal files and reinstalling vista is the only thing I can think of. So my question is, do I have to purchase a vista installation set or should I get an upgrade pack to upgrade my vista business to vista ultimate? Thanks so much for any help you can provide. I'm totally noob at this ;P |
