PQService will not show up on ubuntu

Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire 5630 with Windows Vista Home Edition. I'm trying to get back my lost password for the Acer Recovery. I tried using Ubuntu to access the hidden partition PQService but it tells me that this drive is in use.

I read up on it but I'm missing something important. I used a partition manager to see if I actually have PQService and it's there. Set an 8GB NTFS primary partition (07). There's also space taken up on it. But I can't mount it in Ubuntu for the life of me.

Even when i lists the drives in Ubuntu, the /dev/sda1 is listed as "unknown". In fact the only device that makes sense to me is the /dev/sda3 because it has an ID of 7 and type of "HPFS/NTFS".

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
