A45-S120 - operate without battery installed?

Does anyone know whether the Satellite A45-S120 can safely be operated without the battery installed and just using AC power? I read the instructions but the wording is contradictory and confusing.

saugen48 is cool enough to have people show up to his/her party!
Some brands/models will work without a battery, and some wont.
Just do a google search for (operating laptop without battery)you will find more info on it.

It is very much a preference. I like using my comp woth battery in, even on AC, since it can be used as emergency power when the main line is down.

Arguments are rampant on whether if it is "necessary" or "advantageous" - you alone must decide which way you want to go, based on your researches.

cheers ...
