Downgrade from Vista to XP-sp3 on Asus F7KR

Hello

Firstly, the model is F7KR-7S016
with specs :

AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology Processor TL-58 1.9GHz ,1M L2 Cache;
ChipsetAMD M690G+SB600;
2GB DDR2 667 MHz SDRAM,
Video Graphics & Memory ATI Mobility™ Radeon®HD 2400;
250GB,5400rpm ;
Ricoh Card Reader8 in 1;
Video Camera1.3 Mega Pixel web camera

I will try to write this in the order I encountered them after the Windows XP SP3 install.

1. Update to Windows .NET Framework.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

2. Download some Ati Radeon drivers. I downloaded from Guru3D, the name of the file was
9-3_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu-[Guru3D.com].exe

3. Download Mobility Modder
http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool.php
Instructions are written on how to use this tool on the previously downloaded driver, then it will be installed with no problems.

4. Marvell yukon 88e055 (LAN)
http://www.marvell.com/drivers/search.do
and from there it's simple.

5. Ricoh Card Reader. I just installed the drivers from the original Vista Driver CD, fully recognized by Windows Device Manager, not tested yet.

6. Sm bus controller
Go to the AMD website, install the South Bridge Driver
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_ca...ntegratedip-xp

7. STK7700D is the tv-tuner (or so, I never used it).
Right click on the item in Device manager, point for the driver location on your original Vista Driver CD, it worked fine for me, fully recognized by Windows Device Manager, not tested yet.

8. Audio part :
Go to the Realtek website, High Definition Audio codecs, download the file for Windows XP, the name was WDM_220.zip.
In the same page, download the ATI HDMI Audio Device, the name was HDMI_R218.exe

9. Modem device on High Definition.
I think this was the modem included in the laptop, so just install from your original Vista Driver CD, it worked fine for me, fully recognized by Windows Device Manager, not tested yet.

10. Bluetooth.
Appeared in Device Manager as
USB Device with
USB\VID_0B05&PID_1712\0194E8-5B-0002

So this was fixed by downloading the file
Bluetooth_XP_080602.zip
from
http://support.asus.com/download/dow...-us&model=F8Sa

That means these are the drivers for WinXP for the Bluetooth of Asus F8Sa, but I believe it's the same Toshiba Controller.
11. Wireless Console

Just install from your original Vista Driver CD

12. ATK0100

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Oth...04321561.shtml

13. Wireless drivers for Atheros can be found on

http://www.station-drivers.com/page/atheros.htm

Now, the first 3 steps were made in this order exactly.
The rest were not made in any particular order (although some need others before to get installed, I believe the wireless console and the ATK0100).

I honestly think I forgot something (a step that had to be wrote here) but for the moment, my system has no unknown things in Device Manager.

I wrote this because searching and downloading for all these took me a few hours, maybe this will be of any help for someone.

Cheers.

IT's a great write up. I hope it becomes useful for someone.
