Sony VAIO NS 15.4 or Toshiba Satellite M300 14?
I'm currently stuck between choosing these two models.
Sony: http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/ser...n100299n100525 Toshiba: http://www.toshiba.ca/web/product.gr...=8410&category= The latter is smaller and can be expanded to a 6gb ram while the Sony is 4gb. Its GPU is ATI Radeon 3470 while the NS is ATI Radeon 3430. Is there much of a difference? Also, the processor is Intel T6400 for the Sony and T5800 for the Toshiba even though the specifications are exactly the same. I don't know much about computers so specifications wise, which one is better? And which brand is generally more reliable? Right now, I'm leaning towards the Sony because of its reputation, design and slightly superior specifications(from what I can tell). But I'm an university student and I'm not sure if a 15.4incher would be portable enough for me. Anyone has any experience in that regard? I'll mostly be using the laptop for: - schoolwork - photoshop - internet - movies - occasional gaming like WoW and URT...I'm not expecting to play Crysis or anything like that So based on what I said, which one is the better choice overall? *edit* After doing some researching, it seems that the Sony NS isn't very well received. Should I be considering the Toshiba or another set? Last edited by overandunder; 03-27-2009 at 07:50 PM. |

Either would be a good choice. You don't seem to demand high graphics gaming or ultra portable qualities and pretty much any notebook you buy today can take on the tasks you presented. Its just a matter of which size screen you want.

I have a sony vaio ns series, im typing this up on it right now. i love it. i'd definitely recommend it. i play bf2 on this, do all my ms office work, and a few other really intensive things, and this computer handles it all flawlessly. it looks great, runs awesome, and is a great buy. im very happy with mine and would make the same decision all over again.

Wow, what a coincidence. I've been looking at the *exact* two models you've posted too!
Have you decided which one to get yet? They're both very close spec-wise, but the Sony one comes with a Blu-Ray drive. If that matters to you, those are usually pretty expensive right now. |
