8886 new hard drive not detected in bios
I have an old 8886 notebook. Stupid thing has gone through 2 hard drives so far and now im trying to install a 3rd replacement. I had an old Hitachi 20gb drive that i know is working fine, but when i connect it to my notebook, bios doesnt even seen it. Any idea what i could be doing wrong? Do i need to change anything in the bios for it? My old drive was a 60gb if that means anything. I know its physically connected correctly.

I just tried a 40gb fujistu and that didnt work either =(. Still doesnt recognize any hard drives in bios. My cd and dvd drives work, so i wouldnt think it would be the ide controller thats bad. i have even gone as far as clearing my bios. Still no luck.
