8400m GS vista aero slowdowns with driver updates
Hello all, im having trouble with the newer nvidia drivers on my dell m1330. Everytime i upgrade my drivers from the factory set drivers, Windows Aero lags. When i open, close, minimize windows or use flip 3d there is lag...and the animations are all choppy; which is really annoying.
So far ive tried the latest driver from dell, the 169.09 drivers, and the 163.44 drivers. I see an increase in 3dmark scores when i make an upgrade to any of these drivers and my fps in most games are increased, but the problem is that they lag in the vista interface. Right now im running the factory drivers again and vista is running very smooth. Anyone know whats going on? Specs. 2.2ghz core duo 2gb 667 ddr2 160gb hd 8400m GS |

Are you updating your drivers properly, as described in THIS THREAD?
It could be the cause of the issues you're facing.

169.04 or 169.09 is what I'd recommend.

Try downloading a program called ATItool, and use it to give your self a minor boost in 2-D clock speed. By minor, I mean by 50 to 75 MHz or so for the core... see if this offers an improvement.
As Fenuxx suggested, you need to use the 169.04 drivers in order to successfully change the clock speeds. Do a clean install of the drivers, and see if the clock speed increase helps any. ![]() |

I Have the same problem and i search all the internet for fix this and no way
nvidia must fix this problem its a driver problem there is one way to stop lags but its not the final resolve of that problem try to do this until nvidia support a fix to this problem go to System Properties Advanced Tab Performance Setting Remove the check mark from Animate Windows When Minimize and Maximize ok Good Luck Man |
