Well, to be honest I am not certain how much I would say that about Windows anymore, having been setting up a small basic multi-machine and multi-user environment with some specific requirements over the past couple of days. This isn't to say that the GUI is the bomb in windows, more to say that their command prompt (command.com) is that bad in comparison to *nix commandlines.

Windows does have a good repertoire on the command lines, if one wants to play with batch, shell etc ...

Admitedly it has bee a LONG time (DOS) since i dealt with the commandline in MS environments, but going through that list I am not seeing to much I missed.
