Disappointed with the process
I thought obtaining marital approval would be the hardest part of getting my new AW lappy.....
I placed the order last Friday through the website and entered my credit card information. My first disappointment was the confirmation call, when instead of the nerd talk and mutual umming and arring over the components I had selected the operator put the 'hard sell' warranty spiel on me. I felt like I was in Best Buy. I made it pretty clear that I had a date that I required the laptop by due to a trip overseas. The date was after the estimated ship date shown when I configured my spec. The operator told me that credit would pick up my order and progress it within two hours. After six days they still had not even attempted to run my credit card (phase 1) and my inquiry was met with a "pat on the head" we don't work weekends message. While trying to research how the phases worked I was horrified to read some of the waiting periods experienced, for sure you guys have way more patience than I do . Anyway it has become apparent that there is no way they are going to meet my date (never mind the date shown when I placed the order) so I cancelled the order today (of which I have received no confirmation either). I am pretty easy to please, either do what you say you are going to do or talk to me about why it can't be done. I was expecting more than this from AW and got less. I am going to take my 3,400 and drink it to drown the sorrows of never getting to see my baby's glowing alien eyes Thanks for listening to the rant.. |

I think we all run across the idea of cancelling our order after the ship date we get quoted both online and from the sales department is not meet. I know I did many times, especially when i read all the treads about not being able to upgrade my systems video module which at the time of my order AW was pushing that whole upgradability and every artical you ever read about AWs Area 51m did the same. But in the end i stuck it out and finally my system was shipped July 13th. Im still waiting for it to arrive, but when it does i know i will be very happy that i stuck it out. (as long as it boots up and i have no problems with it) I talked with AW just today so im gonna share this little bit of information. You have 5 days to check out your system after you receive it to make sure everything works. All the disks are included and work properly...all the products you ordered were shipped and working ie...batteries, chargers, flash drive, head phones whatever. If there are any problems you only have the 5 days to have any errors in the order corrected or any other out of the box failures.
Im sad to hear a new family member had a falling out but your 3400 richer so thats not too bad. Dont drink it all away you still will need to buy a computer. |

Lol, it appears that me cancelling my order was just the kick that AW needed to charge my credit card. Let's hope they stick to building computers and don't branch into Order Management Business Consulting......
