HP ZD7000 series laptop -- will not pass initial boot screen after AC Jack Repair
I am trying to repair a ZD7000 series laptop. The initial problem was that it had a broken AC Jack. I got a new AC jack and soldered that in. While I was at it, I also got a 3.2GHz P4 out of another laptop to replace the one that was in this laptop.
Now the laptop does not pass the boot screen. It will just display the HP splash page, then reboot. No BIOS beeps. It does this on both AC power and battery. I have tried different ram as well, with no luck. Any ideas?
