Just curious, I saw on the xoticpc forum the other day. They said it will be possible. But I dont think so. I couldnt even find a HD3870 to buy. I dont think the HD4870 will be available to purchase individually. What do you think?

It may find it's way there eventually if OCZ makes a deal with ATI.

Rumor is that it is not going to happen. There is a slight possibility that the 4850 may materialize for the M17.

Does anyone know if there will be a redesigned whitebook that will carry the 4000 series cards or nvidia 260 or 280?

they will not. alienware has the m17 which is the arima w840di which is the same model as the whitebook except with the alienware head, bios and keyboard. they have the 4850's for this unit. but it was discounted becuase of the m17x with the 4870(really 4850 becuase it has gddr3 instead of gddr5.)
