The 64 bit Vista driver "works" in Windows 7 and I was using that before last week. But the driver set is incomplete, I always get unknown smart card in device manager and every now and then there's a pop up message saying something along the line of "device installation unsuccessful".
After installing the Windows 7 driver, all the errors are gone, that suggests the installation was successful and the driver works. However, I didn't try the WWAN card until last Sunday, that was when I discovered SE Wireless Manager is not compatible with the new Windows 7 driver. |

Turns out you can use the WWAN card like a dial-up modem, so it doesn't require any 3rd party clients (Dell ControlPoint Connection Manager nor Sony Ericsson Wireless Manager).
