Not sure how you can approach this with an AMD-W7 based machine

Pretty tough in finding a SATA driver for it. What about running XP within W7? Regarding re.installing W7, did you create the recovery disks? do you still have the recovery partition?

cheers ...

hi,

thanks for your reaction,

I have purchased a new HD switched them to install win xp64, i have the recovery disks and i still have the partitions, aswell as the installed windows 7 on the other HD.

It's not realy a problem, the notebook still works..

Just not to fond of the operating system, never used vista and dont like the interfase..

I know the drivers are hard to find, i found some drivers for an other amd machine but they didn't match.

on the hp site there are no drivers availible for win xp64 for my machine.. still working on it.

But the thing i find realy frustrating is there can't be changes made like this in the bios.. where my acer laptop doesn't have a problem with..

i just set ahci to ide and win xp64 installs perfectly.
