Man ill tell you i just got through talking to 2 different people from AlienHell and there a**holes. i asked for the respawn kit that i was supossed to get and all i got was "we don't have those, after we put it on the hard drive we erase them(which is bullsh*t). they don't do that they keep using them. stupid freaks. everyone told me that alienware has the worst tech and customer support an there right. I even tried to buy them (which i shouldn't of had to in the first place) and they said "we don't have those" then gave me the same crap.

i thought dell was bad but damn i told both guys "what the F*** it's just 2 discs, what the hell is it going to hurt for you to send me 2 discs". sorry we don't have those. aliwenware may make some awesome machines but there support sux bad.

anyone out there thinking about buying one DON'T. you will regret it....

Yeah, Alienware is terrible when it comes to getting free stuff. Their support, however, when you need it, is great!

I've had an Alienware before, like 5 years ago, and any time I had a tech issue, they were fast and knowledgable, which is more than I can say for Dell's "Reformat fixes everything" approach.

So this statement is sorta true..
(quick and dirty explination follows) The Respawn DVD's are manually made(someone put disc in the system) . So the system goes through the full process of being imaged in the factory. If you order a respawn dvd, the system is flagged and a person in the factory physically walks over and puts the blank dvd media in your system and clicks on the go button. The imaging process then writes an image of you system to the disc(s). Once it is done the system is sealed and the respawn disc(s) are put in the box with you system.

So no Alienware does not keep a copy of you image. This is also the reason you get charged for the respawn disks and the reason you can't order them after the fact.

I would recommend find an imageing program like ghost, and make your dvd back up set.
