Aspire 1693 noise when off! ... My wild guess ... Bad battery - especially if the old battery did not have this symptom cheers ...

Hi

I've just bought a second hand Aspire 1693 to replace my 1681, so far very happy with it.

Apart from........when powered down there is an annoying electrical noise (hear it from a metre or so away in a quiet room)
So, as the notebook is only to be used on mains supply I've just removed the battery & no noise when unplugged.
When the Acer is on this noise dissapears
There does seem to be around 8% battery drainage over night

So the question is has anyone else experienced this problem or is it normal?

I got the same proplem as posted today with a new battery on my Aspire 1712. Something is consuming energy when switched off, thats why the original battery went dead quickly. I hope to see some answers on this problem. Heeelp!
