Area-51 M9750 No Display

Well i went to sleep one night and when i woke up i got on my laptop but there was no screen. So i rebooted and it makes the windows vista sounds and all but still no screen...tried reseating the Video cards and the memory and even new arctic silver but nothing seems to work.U have no warranty and alienware wants 400 flate rate to look at it.I have a m17x on the way(keeps getting pushed back)but i still wanna find the problem.I tried a external monitor but still nothing.Video cards maybe? Im out of ideas..ztronics is my next option i think.Any help is welcome.

External monitor and FN toggling? You mentioned you had a Windows sound. A bad GPU would not even let you boot past BIOS.

cheers ...

I would go over the cabling inside the LCD again. A bad inverter could make the screen black also.

cheers ...

I had a tech from my work take the top part where the power button is out and i saw the cable was fine..or it appeared to be...but that would mean that the external monitor would/should work and it isnt..whats a invertor and where or how can i check it?

The inverter is usually situated at the bottom of the LCD frame. I don't know how you can test it, for me black screen = bad inverter = 99% of the time. That is providing that your GPU works

Picture before last, that's an inverter.

cheers ...
