Latitude C640 Battery Issue

Last week I replaced both the CMOS battery and the laptop battery.
The laptop worked perfectly while running on the battery. Then according to the instructions that came with the battery, I changed all the power settings to never and allowed the battery to completely discharge. I then recharged it fully.
Now however the laptop will not boot up or even run at all on battery power. If the laptop is plugged into the AC adapter, all is well. As soon as you unplug the adapter, the laptop shut off.
The battery is showing to be 100% charged.

Any one have any ideas or suggestion to get the laptop back where it will run on the battery alone?

One reason why I never let the notebook batteries running down completely, regardless of what anyone says. They are just like car battery (cells) to me, drain it totally down, and one can have a heck of a time to re-charge (revive) them.

You want to try to put your battery in the freezer for about 15-20 min, in a plastic bag, then take it out for 5 minutes, and try again? I know, charlatan approach

cheers ...

The old laptop battery would not hold a charge at all.
Also on the new battery, I can push the button and all 5 lights will come on.

All I can think of is to check the BIOS settings and/or the Winodws settings to see if the battery has been disabled

Otherwise you may have a motherboard / DC jack issue
