Our admins take the best and most objective laptop reviews and index them here to create a distinct selection of quality reviews with averaged overall ratings. Many of these reviews have benchmarks attached to them which allows for users to compare their laptop's performance with others, and ultimately enables us to provide a sortable list which at a glance show the fastest laptops amongst a variety of applications (gaming, video editing, web browsing, etc...). What are your opinions of the artwork on the lid?
I like the design, although I'm not sure I would want it on a computer I used at school or work. I think the design for the Best Buy version (the white lid) is a bit more subtle and easier to use in different situations without it looking too flashy.

Does ASUS offer a way to turn off the center led on the notebook cover in this model Djembe? We find it disturbing (to others) sometimes working at night in the dark.

cheers ...

I didn't look for one, but the utility that controls the lights should be called Direct Console and there may be an option to turn them off from there.

Well if Gentech gave you this for review I will have to give them a look. We all know I favor a certain site. That said Gentech has always been maybe the best on Asus. And I do like Asus. I did research them before I bought and they had 14" performance.

I really do want to know the long and the short of the thermal issues.

Sorry to deflect.

cheers ...

valerii is a n00b, but everyone loves n00bs!
Well, I have Dell E1705 with installed Go 7900 GTX 512 MB and seems like its dead(my fault thou). Anyway, i'm too far away from civilizations to get another GTX so I'm thinking about new gaming laptop. On top of it...dang...some games just giving me 3 fps on low quality...nooo, not good.

Well was checking about ASUS here and there, saw prices. Seems like really nice toy with a fair price. So, where's the catch? and it seems like here:

Checking on ebay on those laptops(mostly 51s, not 60) there are lots of them refurbished. So it means probably something is going wrong with them during time. On top of it the model is pretty fresh don't really think so that is somebody there having it for like 2 years. I had my DELL working non stop with weeks downloading and playing without turning off, I actually killed it, but still can't say more, was fair deal.

So the question is:

Do you guys think maybe over time ASUS will die fast? Does anybody knows about this? Does anybody have it used for a while?

When lots of dust will be in vent then where the problems starts. I was cleaning my dell completely disassembling like 1 time per 6 month. Full of dust. And also I bought a cooler pad with 3 fans - helped me a lil bit thou.

How is ASUS about dust and stuff?

Thanks
Valerii

Many members here have nothing but praised on the long lasting performance of ASUS. We have currently 2 ASUS in the family, one is over 4 years old and still running, the other is the G50 gaming model. Tip top, I must say.

Dust can be present in any notebooks, how and where you use them determine how long you can go without taking them apart and clean them up. My personal rule of thumb is at least a good clean up every 16-24 months depending on usage.

cheers ...

Well, definitely ASUS is a very good brand and in parts of Motherboars and Graphic Cards shows really good quality and performance. Though I bet laptops are good (never had a chance to try one) still gaming laptop is a special thing and lots of refurbished models on Ebay made me freaked out.
Well, I'm thinking to buy one but until I'll collect enough money I guess topic will be more larger ))
