Investorguy has all your base
got the drivers--how do I UNrar something?

What is this .rar? Is this better than winzip? I there a free/demo .rar program out there that you know about?

Those new drivers for the 8886 are .rar'ed in case you were wondering.

.rar is another kind of compression algorithm.
You can use WinRAR to extract the files.
Also check towards the end of this thread.

Rar is yet another compressed file type. The main program peoplel use is WinRAR. You can get it at http://www.rarlab.com. It is not free, but you can download an eval version. There are also freeware 'do it all' archivers that will handle most rar files. Just do a google search for freeware rar archive programs.

I prefer winace (www.winace.com) since it handles the most popular compressing formats (includes ace, zip, rar, etc).

Regarding compressors...I'm not sure if RAR compresses to a smaller size, but one of the pluses is that even if the file is not completely downloaded, you'll receive most of the files in the .rar file.

Well, winxp can do all of the compressed formats except a few that winrar can handle, which is why I have it.
