might know. ... I had a problem like that on my 8880 all i did was take out the HD then put it back in and it turned on fine. Hope that helps

When I turn on my 8887 this happens:

Fans Turns on (Highest Speed) and stays on high
All Lights, except the HDD activity light, turn on and stay on.
Screen stays blank, even the bios screen does not appear
No buttons do anything.

I have not tried anything yet. I thought it could be a fried CPU or ram but have not tried new ones yet.

"try removing the battery and ac adapter, then pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds, then reinsert the ac adapter and try starting it again."

There have been a few similar reports in recent months, but no concrete resolutions. Browse the 88XX Tech Support forum, as you're probably doing. Look up how to reset the BIOS and try that too. Other than than it's Sager Support and RMA, if you have warranty, or perhaps time for that $700+ (or more if you need CPU) upgrade to the 8890. At least it's an option and cheaper than a similar new laptop. Good luck.

I had a problem like that on my 8880 all i did was take out the HD then put it back in and it turned on fine. Hope that helps
