No option for battery indication on 5680, BIOS wierdness
Heya,
I have a 5680 [XP Professional], and have been confounded by an odd power issue. It's no real big deal, but I do not have the option of showing battery state on my laptop (in the taskbar, of course). When I select "Always show icon in the taskbar," the icon always says "On AC power." The laptop functions on batteries for as long as advertised, however the ever-friendly "Battery Remaining" indicator never shows up. I also don't have the "On Batteries" tab in the Power Options applet menu - only a tab with information for how the computer is to respond were it on a UPS. Also, in my BIOS (I have the latest, video-error-fixing version), my option for "WLAN" is greyed out, and I can't access it. Which is odd, because Windows detects and uses my WLAN connection without issue. Small problems, but a touch irritating nonetheless. Does anyone out there have suggestions? Thanks in advance, - Aeon
