You are browsing within the review sections of our forums. Content within these sections reflect consumer opinions of laptops. Our admins take the best and most objective laptop reviews and index them here to create a distinct selection of quality reviews with averaged overall ratings. Many of these reviews have benchmarks attached to them which allows for users to compare their laptop's performance with others, and ultimately enables us to provide a sortable list which at a glance show the fastest laptops amongst a variety of applications (gaming, video editing, web browsing, etc...). Help us build a better laptop database by submitting your laptop review.

HP ZD8000 w/X600

Anyone has received the system already?

If I'm not wrong this will be the first system w/X600 then we can compare it with MR9800.

I have one ordered...should arrive early next week.....Just FYI, the X600 mobility is based on the same core as the MR9700........it's basically a PCI Express version of the MR9700....so i can tell you right now, the MR9800 outperforms the X600....the X800 mobility (whenever it shows up in a laptop), will be the one that will be on par if not better than the MR9800 (they both use the same tech. but the X800 is PCI-E based).

Huummmmm... OK,even with your coments I think X600 will outperform MR9700, maybe not 9800, but how far from it?
Please review your system a.s.a.p., buddy.
And, yes, congratz on your purchase.

I will benchmark and review it as soon as I get it.
I do think it will outperform the MR9700....but only narrowly. (like I said, it is the same graphics chip/tech, just PCI-E interface instead of AGP....and there is very little performance gain going to PCI-E on that chip).
It does have 256MB of video memory (this X600)...so if anything that will help it outperform a 128MB MR9700....but the MR9800 is based off of the X800 desktop GPU core......so i still think the X600 will be far from the MR9800 performance-wise.
