Battery problem with new 8886

Enjoying my new 8886 but I think I have a problem with the battery. So far it has actually appeared to work the opposite of what it should be doing. For example, when it is run down and charging, the amber light is on (manual says it should be green) It never gets to 100%, only about 97% and at that point it goes to blinking green. (Manual says full battery-light should be amber) Manual says blinking green indicates "serious battery problem". So I followed procedure in the manual concerning removing battery, reinstalling, etc. Did this twice but never seems to help. Haven't had time to test how long battery lasts, will try to do that this weekend. It appeared to go down rather quickly when I pulled AC adapt for a while.

Anyone have a similar experience or suggestions?

Yes, the manual is backwards on this point. Switch the colors :-) We discovered this a while back in an older thread. Otherwise the manual is a great resource. :-)

Indeed, the actual light config is just, as beebster said:

Amber: Charging
Green: Charged
Off: Running on battery

Hope that helps

I appreciate the responses. One other question-no one addressed the "blinking" green light. Does that still indicate that I have a battery problem? It starts blinking as soon as the battery reaches 97 or 98%, and does so until I unplug the AC adapt. and it goes on battery power. Then the light goes out, as you indicated it would.

Thanks again for the help.
