Pros: Nice looking, Light up keyboard, Fair size, many ports, good warranty, exceptionable service

Cons: Gaming not as good as expected, Heats up A LOT, bad microphone, bad speakers, bad battery life, fairly loud at times

I heard so many great things about Asus, especially their Gaming laptops... Pros

- Nice looking: It's blue with a light up logo for republic of gamers

- Light up keyboard: Good for typing in the dark

- Fair size: I like the size, It's not too small, and not too big (16" screen I'm pretty sure)

- Many ports: tons of ports and I don't even know what half of them are for, check the specs if you'd like to see

- Good warranty: Year warranty accidental

- Exceptional service: If you call Asus for help, you wont wait longer than a few minutes on the phone, and the people are good with helping you

CONS

- Gaming not as good as expected: I have to turn Vsync off if I want to play most games without lag when turning around, if I want to play full graphics with minimal glitch, I must turn Vsync off and update the game to the latest and/or fastest patch

- Heats up A LOT: It can burn your hand if you keep your hand next to where the heat comes out, which is also a bad placing because it's on the left of the laptop, not the back, when I pick up paper near the left of my laptop it's literally very warm because of the heat emitted from this laptop

- Bad microphone: 1200 dollar laptop should come with a decent integrated microphone, this laptop did not, I had to buy a microphone

- Bad speakers: Good quality but not loud enough, so I had to go buy a 10 dollar set

- Bad battery life: when gaming, only about one and a half hour of battery life, without gaming you wont expect much more either unless you're in quiet office mode

- Loud: Always making sound from the insides, the fan is always in the background sound of everything I am doing, and when it is producing a lot of heat, it gets really loud

SO my final verdict is 3/5, I like the laptop a lot because it's better than my old one by a mile, but if I had control over what laptop I was getting instead of it being a surprise for christmas, I would've read the shitty reviews first and went with the G73 maybe, too bad it's too late to return this big hot noisy laptop.

Don't get me wrong, I really love this laptop, but there are a lot of problems, and the graphics card is weak, don't let the 1 GB GDDR5 VRAM confuse you.

I'm worried about this thing overheating and blowing up, and everyone on my street will be screwed then. PLEASE make sure your laptop is good before you purchase it, I was ready to buy the G72GX but this was a pleasant surprise, which I now know how it actually works.

Any questions, responses, anything, ask me or tell me.

Also this is my first review and I didn't want to say much about this laptop!

Nice simple informative review lukey Run some benchmarks when you have time.

cheers ...
Okay I will, sorry but I'm new to benchmarks, theres a benchmark button in the game right?
I've had mine for a year now and would back up this review. But it is great bang for the amount of buck. Anyone new to pc gaming will dig it, until you realize there is another plateau. And for that, my friend, you will either pay for it in cash you can't afford or burn with envy. Unless, of course you're a rich ba$terd then you don't care and wouldn't buy this rig in any case.
I hate the rich, grrrrrrrrrrr.
Just got a green vertical line down the middle of the screen. It feels to be falling apart lately. But I stopped porting it around and use it strictly as a DJ rig now. Serves the purpose well.
