Anyways lets start the review...
Okay when I started my long 3 month search for a laptop...of course I looked at the greats...voodoo, falcon, alienware....I was amazed. But then I see the price and yet again I was "AMAZED"....
I knew never in my life that I would ever be able to afford the falcons or voodoos. But i the later weeks of the 3rd month I saw a light in the dark abyss. I saw HP and then I saw the ZD8000. The first I when in I saw the machine I was amazed. So I quickly got my credit card and customized my laptop. And after 1 week and 2 days I got my dream machine.
Pentium 4 3.2GHz with HT
1Gigabyte (1024MB) of Ram
Hitachi 60Gigabyte HD
256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X600
Nice and Attractive while very Professional. I would prefer an Alienware case but the laptop case is just as nice.
Everything is nicely placed. Especially the placement of the 4 USB ports. 2 on the right, 1 on the left, and 1 in the back. That makes life so much easier. The keyboard is nice and large so Shaq won't have any problems. Overall the case is great. The function keys make life easier (F1-12)! But the keys are a little fragile so be carefull!
Eh...I'm not dissatified. I just think the AMD Athlon 64 belonged more in this notebook than the Pentium. I mean this notebook was meant to bring the future into a present notebook at an affordable price. The AMD would have made it cheaper and more advanced technology wise! Plus a free Farcry game! LOL!
Okay here is the truth...you don't need 256mb in your video card. Games nowadays maybe except for FarCry utilize this extra memory. A 128mb GPU will give you the exact same performance at a cheaper price. But if you do get a 256...then you have earned the right to make of our 128, 64 bretherin. Just like..."In yo face! In yo face! Hurray for me! Hurray!" But performance...the benchmarks in my sigs. I wound not call it a PCI-Express version of a 9700. But more of an overclocked 9600 pro. Because there is some lag in scores. But you get perfect gameplay. Right now I'm playing Maple Story which is Beta Testing. I run that fine. Yeah its in 2D but it runs on a 3D graphics engine. Don't ask me how.
Don't get excited. 1:45 at max!
Again don't get excited. 10lbs without powerbrick...12 with brick...
Its a great laptop but I it would have been better with an X800 and AMD Athlon 64 but no complaints.
