Dell Inspiron 1525
I got this thing for $499 with no interest for 6 months at Best Buy, and it looked and performed excellently, except for the temperature around the touchpad. It was so uncomfortable that I took it back for a refund after 1 week. I am OK with a laptop being hot on the bottom, but not where I place my hands for typing. I am typing on my old Gateway now, and I feel no heat. The Dell was MUCH hotter on the palms, and it's the same speed (but 2 cores instead of 1). Hold your applause, but I actually kinda liked Vista!!! It was a little hard to get used to, but I had no conflicts, except for Outlook 2000.
