What is Doom 3 Built-in-Benchmark

The Doom 3 Built in Benchmark is a built in graphical tool that will test the performance of Doom 3 on the computer you are playing on. The Doom 3 Built in Benchmark can be operated either by recording a custom demo of actual gameplay and then playing it back with the benchmark tool, or by running a built-in demo of example gameplay. To make comparison consistent, we will run the built-in demo to get the score from that, which has exactly 2148 frames.

How to run the benchmark

CTRL + ALT + ~

(Hit the tilde key while holding the CTRL and ALT keys)

In the console that appears, type “timedemo demo1“

Here is an example of the test. (video will differ for it is user generated)

At the end of the benchmark, the program will output a screen that looks like this. This number represents the average Frames per Second. The higher the number, the better your computer can handle running Doom 3 . To find how well your computer can run the test, the graphic options should be set on the highest possible resolution and settings. This will determine on what level your notebook stands and can be compared to other notebooks on this site.
