Exclamation Asus Z70Va Audio and Modem Driver install issues!

Hi Fellow Asus notebook users. I am having some issues installing the modem and sound drivers for the Z70Va. I can find the modem driver on the Asus site but I can't find the audio drivers. I know it's based on the ALC880. I guess I can just use the driver from the audio chipset maker? Also the modem driver doesn't seem to install properly. I did install the ATK0100 ACPI UTILITY package ATK_XP_2K_051118.zip FIRST as I should have. What I would also like to know is the correct ORDER to install these driver and support packages. What I did is install ATK0100 ACPI utility first then I installed the Intel inf update INF_XP_050127.zip provided at the Asus site. Then Graphics Adapter package VGA_XP_2K_051020.zip , tried to install the modem driver Modem_XP_050127.zip and it didn't seem to work. Then I installed the Yukon NIC driver package Lan_XP_050127.zip worked. Then the Intel wireless package WLAN_XP_050127.zip again provided by Asus and it worked. Then the card reader package CardReader_XP_2K_050706.zip from Asus. Not sure it it worked as I don't have a card to test. Then I installed the Power4Gear utility PowerGear_XP_2K_050407.zip and finally the Touch Pad drivers TouchPad_XP_2K_050407.zip All of these drivers I installed were provided by Asus. When I do find out the proper driver install order/sequence and have all the right builds/versions I intend to creat an ISO containing these files with proper direction on install step by step. This will be my contribution to our community. This entire install is from the latest OEM XP Pro SP2 disk.

The Realtek Audio drivers work fine, you have to install those first before the modem is detected, probably because the modem card is connected to the sound card/audio dj. It shows up in Device Manager as 'HDAUDIO SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with SmartCP'.

I usually use drivers from the individual manufacturers, they're usually more up to date and this applies to the video card, sound card, touchpad, wireless, and ethernet drivers.

Exclamation NOTE!!! To install modem driver the soundcard driver has to be installed FIRST!!!

Thanks for the prompt response lazybum131... what an impressive community we have here... great people... Ok so we should all note this and I intend to included it in a pdf about putting together and installing software on the Z70Va that will be on the pdf with all the latest drivers date stamped. I will host. Ok for anyone reading this please note... in order to get the soundcard and modem working you have to install the sound driver first then the modem. This would be due to the fact the modem uses the soundcard DSP to some extent or has some dll dependances that are appart of the soundcard drivers... I'd take note lazybum131 that the drivers are at times specific to the particular implementation the ODM decided to use. A more thorough explenation is here:

Affect of installing modem driver first then sound...

Just a follow up... When I did finally install the sound driver from realtek's site (file WDM_R133.zip version 5.10.00.5229) in the middle of the sound driver install the modem installed it's self. Not sure if this will cause issues or not but all seems fine at this point. This really isn't the best way for the driver/software to install... we'll see.
