baltimoredsmguy is a n00b, but everyone loves n00bs!
Based on my Computer Management view:
HP_Recovery (D: ) FAT32 Healthy 7.5GB total 512MB Free
(C: ) NTFS Healthy (System) 84.55GB total 50.39GB Free
NTFS Healthy (Unknown Partition) 1.0GB total 403MB Free

When Direct play is running and i click the "i" button this displays:
Build Number 2.0 2412 -HP

p.s. sometimes it boots right into Direct Play, sometimes the "Resuming Windows" screen comes on first, although I think it has to do with how it is shut down ie: Hibernate or Shut Down.

Well, that settles that. I guess that means there may very well be no such thing as a QP2 CD. Without a proper install wizard file, we could spend hours/days/millenia trying to copy files to a clean windows install and still never hit paydirt.

Anyone know what the recovery CD's that they make you burn (4 lightscribe DVD's at a buck a piece) do yet as far as the partition scheme? Also, anyone figured out a way to recover individual app's from them?

and how'd baltimoredsmguy get such a "tiny" recovery partition?

I'm on the phone right now with HP. They said they can sell me a $45 restore disc which they say has qp2 on it. The reason he gave me for them not offering the d/l on their site is b/c it is close to 900mb (1gb about) and for them to host it would be "too hard." Apparently hp figures you will never loose/damage your restore discs. I will update when I confirm.

...God HP hold music blows...

Chuck11:If you decide to buy that copy of QPv2, please share it with us!

My laptop uses QPv1, but with the Bios update I installed it is supossed to support QPv2, what if it doesn't?

Ya sorry, I updated I guess I accidentaly forgot to hit save. Ok. So I bought the CD and the guy assured me that it contains QuickPlay v2.0. I will definitely figure this out and if I cannot get qp off the disc, I will ask help from other people. I will try my hardest to figure this out. The disc will come on the 4th but I won't have time until next weekend so you guys will just have to wait a little. This might be a breakthrough.

Cuchk11: If you send me a copy of that QPv2 disc you'll be one of my heroes!

I don't think it will have a copy protection, at least QPv1 CD doesn't, you could do what I did: Make a CD image with Nero or Alcohol and then you could share it , of course, if you want to do it (I really hope you do)

The only problem I have is like what I said earlier. This file will probably be close to 1gb so if anyone has a server or something, that would be great. Some service like yousendit or megaupload will take friggen forever to upload and I don't have the time nor the pacience to do that. So if anyone has any ideas that would be great.

What's your upload speed??? The only site that I know that will host a 1GB file for free is: http://up-file.com/index.php

I only have an upload speed of 128kbps, that's why I went to school to upload it, they have an upload speed of 1536kbps (1.5Mbps). It took me around 25 minutes to upload a 229MB file.

Anyway, I hope somebody else will have a better form to do it.

256kbps on the upload speed?
Your upload speed isn't that bad. You could start the transfer and go watch some TV or something... It's not like you're on a dial up (56k)

Heck, you could even start the transfer, then go to sleep. By the time you wake up (or get up in the night to go to the the bathroom) the transfer would be "done"....

(While you're sleeping the computer would be doing all the work, Hence not much of your time wasted...Since you would be "asleep, it shouldn't take up too much of your time, nor stress your "patience" as you mentioned previously...)

Ditto on making the ISO, NRG, Image... Start the process, then go take a break, Watch some tv... Then upload it somewhere.

That's what I do on transfers that may take a few hours... It's not like you have to stare at the screen the whole time while it's doing it's thing

WeAreNotAlone: I do think that's the best way to do it (at night, while we are asleep), but please don't be su rude, we don't want him to get mad, 'cause he may not share QPv2 with us.

Nah it's allright, I am a nice person. I will find a way to do it. The only thing I have a problem with is sometimes when I update something, it'll stop and fail. I hope it doesn't but if I just cannot do it, I could probably send a copy of the cd to wearenotalone or something. I'll figure this out.
