hard drive clicking noise

i've got a 700m, but I'm sure this would work for anyone.

If you have 700+mb of ram (I have 1gig) then disable virtual memory.

Ever since I've done that, everything has been running faster, and there is no clicking, surfing the web is dead silent now, big difference!

Virtual memory is the space in your harddrive Windows uses as RAM if you don't have useable system ram.

Definitely don't recommend it if you just want to get rid of the clicking.

Hmmmmm, some programs don't respond well to turning that off. Just be aware. It is safer to just leave it on and set it to 2 MB. I don't know if your clicking would come back though.
