Z71V - Pink overlay after gaming

Every time I play a Direct3D game, I have to reboot my notebook, otherwise, if I play a movie, there will be deep pink tint to it.

After a reboot, its fine, but after gaming, the pink tint comes back on any video overlay.

Any idea why? Ive tried two different versions on Nvidia (77.xx & 86.xx) and two different formats.

Didn't you just post about modding your gpu heatsink? Maybe that's affecting it.

Maybe a corrupt DirectX driver? Try reinstalling that.

no as I said, ive had 77.77 before, then yesturday I formatted and installed 86.85 and it still does it.

Must be something with the "non official" nvidia drivers I use, but I dont feel like rolling back to see if that's the cause

But for sure its something software.

No, the DX driver is different than your gpu driver. You can get the latest DX driver here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx
Last time I had a problem running a DX game.. it turned out that the DX9 I had became corrupt. I had to reinstall that by downloading the old version first (DX8), then install DX9 again. Problem went away after that. Goodluck.

well I dunno if it worked yet. Im too lazy.. or I lack the time... so attempt a fix for now.

Im just assuming you are right

"assuming"

cause I didnt have that problem before a certain reformat.. probably cause back then I had updated my directX for BF2 and I didnt do it in the past 2 formats.
