Revert Back to A04

To go back to A04 from A05, do you simply just go to Dells pevious BIOS downloads and install the A04 from there?

Any deleting of anything beforehand? Any other steps needed other than just downloading the old BIOS and restarting the computer?

Will i have any problems by doing this (going back)?

before when I had A04, the bottom of the laptop was cool as a cucumber. It gets pretty hot now with A05. Hard for me to know what is "acceptable" heat since I'm no expert, but if swithching back is a simple download and nothing else, and it doesn't unsettle the computer switching back, I'm opne to do it.

It is silent though, but the fan noise was never an issue with me before.

I think it's just a matter of downloading it from Dell, and installing the older rev.

Use i9kfangui (search the forum), it will be just as cool with A04 and even more cooler (with high fan settings).

Yes, simply run the A04 BIOS program from Dell's previous downloads.

On a05, my CPU fan cycled on and off every 30 seconds. Quite annoying so I also went back to a04.

Hmm, so whats the implication for i9300 users upgrading to the hacked A05 xps bios for using the 7800 mod upgrade? All new I9300 ship with A05 so I wonder if they have a better motherboard/cooling system?

I don't hear the fans kick on and off all the time... but since putting in the XPS2 A05 BIOS I can actually hear the fans. When it was just the 9300 A05 the fans spun real quick at start up and then shut off. Guess XPS2 A05 tells them to run alot more "just in case".

I'll stay with A04 until A06 will come out. And then we'll see.

A05 reverts fan control back to the BIOS and i9k doesn't work...

i9k works fine with the A05. And so far the A05 has yet to cause a single problem with me letting it run the fans on its own either.
