Ferrari Lovers

I want to buy a ferrari 4005 64bit for xmas - however after reading through some of your threads i got concerned. Mainly I have three questions

1) i tunes & 64 bit - does it work or not - if not how do i get around it

2) Real player 10 & 64 bit - does it work or not - if not how do i get around it

3) http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=26522 - in this review what does the author mean when he says

"However, we feel that the primary reason why the sluggish frame rate occurred was the fault of 5400 rpm HDD, since a similarly equipped desktop configuration (Athlon 64 3200+ Socket 754 at 2GHz, 1GB single-channel DDR333 using three sticks, and an 7200 rpm Seagate Barracuda hard drive) produced far less amount of stuttering than was the case with the Ferrari.

In the end, we can only conclude that the 4005 is the best Ferrari made in 2005, but there are still things left to be desired. At least the rubber on the notebook will last longer than the Bridgestones on the Ferrari F2005."

The sluggish thing is true, I'm afraid to say, yes, I encountered sometimes sluggish playback of vedio and music, I must also say, that this was extreemly reduced when I used Diskeeper to defrage my HD, so I guess if I replace my HD with 7200 one it will end this, but it's not in my plan for simple reason, the lapi is fast, games fast, movie fast, it handles everything smoothly if it setup right (and taken care of), for me spend time to defrage the drive right had a good result.

I would like to ask people who replaced their RAm with DDR400 and HD with a 7200 one what type of performance gain you have now? and plase only people that actually did this reply, cause I see allot of people raise flame war about what things can or can't do based on reviews.

Does Ferrari worth to be bought? yes!
Should you buy it? well, if you want you may wait and get a new model, the golden rule of buying a piece of Hardware is "Don't buy it unless you really need it! it will be outdate tomorrow"

In my experiance, the HD movie stuttering was greatly reduced when running PC3200 RAM.
Unfortunately, actually running RAM at PC3200 speeds is not as easy as it should be.
For me it has required the use of A64 Tweaker, which sometimes will freeze the system completely.

I don't think the hard drive speed is the issue with HD movie stuttering since I get similar results even when playing the HD file off of a external USB 2.0 hard drive.

ITunes works fine without any hitches. Just be sure to install itunes and then restart before plugging the ipod in
