1xconfig.exe, why do you plague me so?

I am a happy owner of a Dell Inspiron 9300. However, over the last few weeks everytime that I try to shutdown a window pops up saying "End Now. 1xconfig.exe......Ending program, please wait." If I do nothing then I get a message that the program is not responding and the shutdown stops. Annoying. If I hit 'End Now' or 'Cancel' then Windows continues to shutdown and the Dell powers off appropriately. The next time that I log on I usually have trouble connecting to my Verizon Wireless DSL and I am wondering if it is related.

That's the gist of my issue. Please let me know what system information or software information that you may also need to know to help fix it.

Thank you.

Hi,

I don't know what hardware or software you have installed. So, here are a couple of links for you to review if the running process is legit.

http://www.file.net/process/1xconfig.exe.html

http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/1xconfig/

Hope this helps

1xconfig.exe is one of 5 processes used by the Intel Wireless Connection Manager. You need it to use that particular utility. Even if the utility is not running, these processes run.
