So my lan broke again! No warranty this time.

As some of you old-timers can remember, in late august 2005 i had the "pleasure" to send in my 258kao for repairs at ibuypower due to a bad lan card. well, here we are 6 months later, and guess what, my lan card died again. but guess what? i am out of warranty!

so i opened up my laptop from the bottom, and hey, guess what, the module is on TOP of the mobo, that is, under the keyboard. TO tell you the truth, beats me how to open it up like that.

i also figure i am gonna need to buy a new pci card. and of course i want something linux-friendly. i like my sis900 actually, one of the most linux-friendly lan cards out there.

so anywho...how do i go about fixing it?

things to keep in mind:
1 - never actually dug around in the GUTs of my lappy
2 - i am on a TIGHT budget. can only afford to get a new lan card on ebay
