Exclamation Sager 9860 recognize itself as a DESKTOP.

Hi. Sometime ago I upgraded to SP2 and killed my 9860 and had to format and reinstall everything. After I finished setting up everything I did a SP2 upgrade again and this time everything went smooth for some odd reason... New problems came up however. My lappy recognizes itself as a desktop not a laptop. The power configuration is all hammered as a desktop, so all the options for settings and stuff are all desktop options. The lappy doesn't recognize that it runs on baterry. I don't even have an option to check battery power.

You know how you unplug your AC while there is music playing and it makes a "brrrrr" sound with whatever you have playing in the background. This was due to a change in voltage the system is using and is normal. However, it is happening frequently now and I think it is because of the problem in my above paragraph. This frequent change in voltage also ruins my gameplay because the graphic card doesnt have enough power to process the commands. I am also unable to get a CPU temperature reading for some reason and there is a whole mess of little problems.

I want to know is there a way to fix this without doing a format & reinstall. If there isn't a way, may someone give me instructions to how to prevent this from happening when I do a reformat and reinstall. I have everything backed up so it is no biggie if I do this. I hope someone can give me a solid answer because this is a tad annoying.

Thanks in Advance,
Riceboi

Mine did that too, so im re-formatting it today. the only thing you can do is re-format it.

does your wireless card turn off every time you shut down the comp, and not come back on when you re-start it? mine dows that and i have to manually turn it on (fn-f11). its just a pain to have to keep doing it.

Yeah!! that is the exact thing that is happening! I got tired of waiting for someone to give a solution that i reformatted it already. Now, everything works as if it were new. Now I could play Oblivion without the lag of the video card.
