Does anyone like having that headphone jack in the front like that?

I actually use mine on my lap and having that jack there is pretty annoying.

I totally agree with you about the jack in the front when the notebook's on the lap. However, most peoples' notebooks rarely ever see lap time. (Hence the industry change in what they're called.) Front jacks make more sense more times than not, since people use them for desktop replacements, or on tables. ...Also for connecting to home audio equipment, since newer receivers have front A/V jacks...

Actual Dell Rep, why does the laptop you show here

http://www.uploadfile.info/uploads/d9963dcd79.jpg

different than the high resolution pics of the XPS M1210, its styling is different and there seems to be more space around the left and right keyboard and only 2 jacks instead of 3, seems like a 13.3" model? or a 14.1"?

So we now know it will definatly have an internal optical drive - look at dellreps picture and at the F10 key on the large photos. What we dont know is the ambient light do-da thing and the graphics card - im just not sure how they can fit a 7300/x1300 in there!

Edit: (specs)

12" wxga screen (1280 x 800)
Nvidia 7300 or ATI x1300 graphics
Integrated optical drive dvd+-rw dl
Core Duo (probably of the low power kind)
Up to 2 or 4gb? ram
Bluetooth v2 and 3945abg
Expresscard54 (left hand side)
5 in 1 media reader (right hand side)
S-video out (Left hand side)
2 headphone ports (front)
2 USB2 ports (left hand side)
Modem (left hand side)
Mic port (front)
vga port (back)
10/100 lan (back)
Webcam Option
Front media buttons
Nice black finish
Release Mid-May

Hard Drive 1.8" or 2.5" - please be the latter
Ambient light sensor?
Probably more usb ports on the back?
Size? Weight?

Holy Jesus. I thought the 700/710m was hot, but this is just at a different level of hotness. Any info on the pricing? I have a feeling it's going to cost a small fortune as any XPS series does.

Does anybody know if there will be a non-XPS version of this?

Will it be available through the Small Business or Home sections?

I'm really liking the pictures of this laptop i just hope they have a non-xps version of this one...

Does anyone know what this X1300/Go7300 is capable of? I'm thinking along the lines of CS/DoD and in particular I have Half Life 2: Episode One in mind.

Just curious.

I, too, would be curious to hear what the performance is like with the X1300/Go7300.

Anyone?

This laptop is what the M1710 should've looked like.
